Meet Our April Cool Cat Photo Contest
Winner for 2008!

Terrific Tarragon is a LaPerm that loves to play sports - hockey is his favourite and he knows how to score, now if he would only needs to learn the proper net to put the puck in so the players would be much happier to have him on their team!!! He likes to swim, play fetch, go for walks on his harness and leash and lends a paw whenever he can to help. He also like to drive the car and has only gotten one speeding ticket. LOL Last month he had the opportunity to help the pilots fly a plane when we went on a trip, but he was a little disappointed that there were no roosters in the cockpit!!!.

He is an extremely intelligent cat, very active & playful and loves to cuddle and follow me from room to room. In the mornings he likes to jump in the show with me so his curls are always looking their best.

He is a Certified Therapy Cat and enjoys going to Sick Kids Hospital to entertains the children. He also enjoys going to Senior Citizen Homes to play chess and checkers with the residences and make them laugh with his antics.

He will be 4 years old in August and we're having a big birthday bash to celebrate - all his friends will be attending so they can join in the fun. We're having an NHL theme party for him because he's a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan and sits on top of the TV whenever there is a game on with his paws hanging down to help them score!!!

Tarragon also happens to think that his name is really "Terror of Dawn" and works very hard to live up to it. He knows how to take the foil & wire off and pop the cork on a champagne bottle - his beverage of choice. He thinks the olive at the bottom of a martini glass is a cat toy and does his best to get each and everyone out so the humans don't accidentally eat them. ROFL

He like to the come to the clinic to be the "Meet and Greet Kitty" and calm down the pets that are nervous before they have to see the nasty V.E.T. most animals are scared of. He makes sure after they are done they get a treat and gives them kisses and head-bonks to make them feel better. He loves all animals and is very friendly and outgoing. He is the most amazing cat I have ever encountered.

This is Remington. He is a 7 month old Domestic Short Hair. I found Remington abandoned by my house and I adopted him, or I should say he adopted me when he was about 2 months old. Remy loves to lounge on the top of his kitty condo and terrorize his sister, Penelope, a miniature doxie. His favorite holiday is Christmas because he so enjoys a good tree climb! He has a very inquisitive nature that sometimes leads to him trouble!

hello ..I finally decided to join my Biggy into a contest ... when I took this picture I knew it was the one because it turned out so beautiful... Hi ...I'm Jamie Pfund from Bay City, MI and my cat is Biggy. He is actually a Maine Coon ..no I do not have papers to prove it but after looking at many of them and reading up he fits the look and personality exact. Biggy is a one person cat.. He is so loving and always has to be with me. I found Biggy when he was about 2 weeks old . He was in a household that was not taking care of him. When I found him he was outside in the cold covered in fleas (to the point where his fur was falling out) that's why I named him Biggy after the cat on Austin Powers. I saw a little kid pick him up and throw him across the yard. That's when i knew he was not staying there. I took this little thing home and fed him canned formula and gatorade after giving him a bath for 2 hours to kill the horrible fleas. Luckily I must have done everything right cause he is still with me today and I couldn't love an animal more. He is family. Beside the abuse Biggy encountered as a baby he has turned out great. He doesn't like strangers or the Vet but he is best friend. Biggy is getting older now .. He just about hit his 8 year birthday but he is still spunky as ever. I have 2 large dogs that he likes to tease regularly between his cat naps in the window. Biggy is my watch dog and he is great at playing fetch with wadded up paper. Just be careful if you give him catnip, its like Jekyl and Hyde. Well thankyou for reading my story and I hope you enjoy his picture as much as I do..

This is Atticus. I noticed him playing in the flowerbeds and took his picture. He seemed to notice that he was being photographed, and began to pose around and through the flowers. Atticus is a male, blue, domestic shorthair and is about 10 months old.
Atticus and his two sisters wandered into our lives last summer. It seems that they had been abandoned, and Atticus had taken care of his two little sisters (Adelaide & Anastasia) and brought them to our pet friendly home. I came home from a day at the office, and there were these three adorable dark gray balls of fluff in the fenced-in backyard, where our dog, Cooper, (a collie/ German shepherd/ corgi) was "guarding" the house. Adelaide and Anastasia were adopted by a friend / co-worker where they have the best of care and the run of the house with a golden retriever named Roady. Our dog, Cooper, adopted Atticus. They are real friends. They play in the yard together and come inside to play with the family and their adopted sister, Patches, a calico cat. Atticus apparently thinks he is a dog. He "sits", “fetches", "comes" and sleeps in the doghouse with Cooper. Atticus loves to have his tummy scratched like a puppy. He reminds me of a little boy when he plays with boxes. When I put a box down for him, as soon as it hits the floor, he dives for it headfirst, and pushes himself around the kitchen floor. If there is an opening in the box, he will stick his paws out and feel around as if he is trying to find things. He also likes to play with paper bags, and we have recently found him napping in a shopping bag.
Atticus is still instinctually a cat. He is a hunter and brings up deceased and, thankfully, un-mutilated "presents" for his family. We have received and disposed of shrews and moles. This winter, he brought up a small toy plush snake and left it for us in his usual place. His other cat behavior occurred when he disappeared for a few days. I was getting anxious, and would call him and think I heard a weak meow, and then nothing. Cooper was pacing back and forth and scratching the ground along one side of our fence. On the fourth day of praying and worrying, I went out one last morning and called for him, and thought that I heard a weak meow. My husband, Allen, came out, listened, and said that he heard it too. We began to call and search. Allen ended up over a block away in a neighbor's driveway and could not find him, but could still hear him. Then the meowing stopped, and we finally had to go to work and school. My husband called later in the day and said that he had found Atticus in a tree beside the neighbor's driveway. Allen is a chimney sweep and this rescue required his longest ladder, but he still could not get high enough to grab Atticus. He said that once Atticus saw him, he climbed down enough to be taken out of the tree. Allen said that on the walk home from the neighbor's yard, Atticus would trot ahead toward home, but after going a few feet, he would stop and turn around and appear to wait for my husband. Atticus has been a homebody ever since his tree experience.
Atticus is a very happy-go-lucky little guy. When we have fostered other animals, he has consistently gotten along with them, and even seemed to act as their kitty therapist. We were fostering a tiny Siamese kitten, who could barely stand on her little legs when we got her. Atticus came inside and began to play with her, and in less than an hour, he had her jumping and running around like a healthy kitten. Atticus has been a source of joy, love, and affection for our whole family, and we are really blessed that he is in our lives.

This is my aunts cat, Lady! She just recently had babies and I guess was in a bad mood! so she decided to stick her tongue out at me when i tried to take her picture! i was laughing so hard that i dropped my camera. we don't really know how old she is because my aunt picked her up at walmart out of a box, along with 2 other kittens. They are all outdoor cats and live on my aunts deck, in Union, MO. They are all the sweetest things in the world. She had her kittens 1 day previous to me taking this picture and was really worn out considering she had 6 of them. I have no clue what type of cat this is cause again we got them at walmart. Well ik i sent this in late but i was wondering if u could put it in with the april contest people. Thanks so much i hope this picture gave you a smile, i know it had that effect on me.

This is my kitten Dynamo, she is only 5 months and loves to sit in baskets, she has six randomly placed all over the house. She loves to use her paw and recently he nose to press your nose to get your attention and to walk people up. Dynamo is so cute and loves to cuddle and be with people, mostly being the center of attention. It was snowing the other day and she sat at the window and just "yelled at it" for an hour.
