Hi, My name is Buckley!
[button link=”foster” size=”large” variation=”hotpink” align=”center”]Offer to Foster Buckley Here![/button]
All supplies will be included. Remuneration will be offered.
Buckley, Bella and their family are moving to Australia. It is a long trip, and in order for Buckley and Bella to travel, they must meet certain quarantine guidelines. This leaves their family in a real bind, as the pets must stay in the US until after the family have made the trip themselves.
The family is hoping to find a very loving and responsible foster care home for Buckley and Bella. Both pets are lovely. Buckley is a 100 pound reddish blonde German Shepherd. Bella is a sweet little Grey Tuxedo cat. They will need to be cared for and loved until they are able to travel. The foster care providers will be asked to assist in transporting the pets to Australia when the time comes.
If you have room in your heart and home to help this family with their pet dilemma, please get in touch. They are in urgent need of a responsible pet care provider, as they leave for Australia in April.
Please call Debbie at or fill out our foster care provider information form below.

Buckley is a “people person” dog- he loves any and all people, big and small. He is very mellow for the most part and happy to sleep inside on his big bed, but his favorite thing in the world is to go for a walks. He is crate trained and house trained, and seems to get along fine with other dogs mostly (there have been a few that he hasn’t cared for but with proper introduction he does ok) He is a big baby and can get scared of thunder and fireworks, but is not a “barker” and mostly content just being with his people.
Bella our cat is a sweet girl, she likes to sleep in the sun and loves her belly rubbed. She likes to sleep with us or in her heated bed, and is a very mellow friendly girl. Although Buckley and Bella have lived together for 5 years, she is not a fan of Buckley and mostly stays upstairs when he is around- they are not bonded or have hardly any interaction so they would not need to be homed together.});
Food and Diet
Buckley is currently on Other
Buckley eats 2 cups of IAMS per day. He is a little over his ideal weight so we are trying to get him under 100 pounds.
Bella free feeds Science Diet indoor dry food, and has one can of grilled fancy feast per day.
Reason For Rehoming
My husband and I are moving back to our native Australia after 7 years in the US. We have 2 pets, a cat Bella and a dog Buckley. We first adopted our sweet cat Bella in 2011 from a shelter, and then we adopted Buckley in 2012 in California and he is a wonderful, loving dog.
But the timeline and list of requirements to get pets back to Australia is very long, and we will be leaving in May and unable to keep the pets with us until the September timeframe when they would be eligible to enter the country. We also cannot keep them in our home for that length of time or be here to take them to the vet for their checks and visits.
Our first choice would be to find foster families for them who might be willing to take on the pre scheduled vet appointments and care for them (and we would pay for all associated costs related to this) until they would leave for Australia- if that is not something we could arrange by May our other option is to re home them, as much as that would pain us to do.
